Jet Orientation Course (JOC) provides you with a transition from a piston engine aircraft to jet engine operations.
Advanced JOT Course Overview
The Jet Orientation Training (JOT) program includes eight hours of classroom instruction covering jet aircraft basics, engine differences, power concepts, automation, IFR flying, approaches, SOPs, and task-sharing techniques supported by mock-up practice. A four-hour Full Flight Simulator session further develops PF and PNF coordination skills. Entry requirements include 70 PIC hours, a valid multi-engine instrument rating, MCC certification, and an ATPL or CPL licence.
The JOT Practical phase includes a four-hour Full Flight Simulator session designed to strengthen pilot coordination, situational awareness, and jet-handling proficiency. This session is divided into two roles—Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Non-Flying (PNF)—allowing trainees to understand both operational responsibilities within a multi-crew jet environment. Each participant practices real-time decision-making, checklist management, communication, and task delegation under realistic and structured conditions.
To enroll in this practical module, pilots must meet essential minimum requirements. These include at least 70 hours as pilot-in-command, a valid multi-engine instrument rating, completion of the MCC course, and possession of an ATPL or CPL licence. These prerequisites ensure participants are fully prepared for advanced jet training.
